What is DevSecOps?

DevSecOps (an abbreviation for Development, Security, and Operations) is the practice of integrating security at the start of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Unlike previous practices in which security was not considered until the final stages of the life cycle, DevSecOps is a concept in which security is prioritized as a fundamental requirement throughout the software development process. Security is integrated into every stage, from planning to deployment. DevSecOps requires the development and operations teams to collaborate and make security a shared responsibility. Because security is integrated into the development process from the beginning, security issues are addressed as they emerge, when they are easier and less expensive to fix. This helps the team deploy secure and compliant applications.
